We chose the VIE Hotel Bangkok—MGallery Collection for our stay in Bangkok, and as expected, it was definitely the right choice! The hotel is located near the Victory Monument, an area perfect for experiencing the real Bangkok. As soon as we entered the hotel, we had a good feeling: stylish furnishings, a pleasant atmosphere, and an attentive team that immediately took care of everything.

Hotel facilities that leave nothing to be desired

We always like to stay in hotels where we are well looked after. In addition to a good location, the hotel’s facilities are also very important—not only in the room itself but also beyond that.

Especially in warm regions like Thailand, it’s nice to have a pool where you can cool off and relax after sightseeing. The VIE Hotel in Bangkok definitely has this to offer. The infinity pool is located on one of the upper floors and offers a great view of the city. You can relax perfectly in the loungers.

For the more sporty travelers, there is a very well-equipped gym where you can even hire trainers.

We didn’t try out the gym as we were usually too exhausted from exploring the area, but we enjoyed our time by the pool all the more.

Pure luxury in the Executive Suite

Our room—a huge suite with a large living room and a great bedroom with a view—was modern and cozy at the same time. It had a super comfortable bed and large windows that offered a great view of the city. After a long day in Bangkok’s hustle and bustle, it was just the right retreat.

We hardly slept as well as in any other hotel, and it was hard to get out of bed in the morning; it was just too cozy. The living room with the sofa corner was also an absolute highlight, where you could relax and enjoy the view.

And if we needed to do something on the laptop in between, we could use the desk—which also had a great view. As you can see, the room really had everything we wanted for nothing.

A sumptuous breakfast buffet for the perfect start to the day

We were particularly impressed by the breakfast, which we were able to enjoy extensively even as vegans – a mixture of Thai specialties and international options, fresh, varied, and prepared with lots of love. In addition to vegan options, there were even some gluten-free breakfast dishes.

The surroundings – Victory Monument & the real Bangkok

On the cab ride to the VIE Boutique Hotel, the driver told us about the Victory Monument and the area, which is, as we will mention later, a special area for fashion lovers.

The VIE Boutique Hotel is located in an area that is often underestimated.

Life pulsates around the Victory Monument – with countless street food stalls, hidden markets, and small alleyways where you can discover real treasures.

Especially cool: You can get everywhere super quickly. The BTS Skytrain station Victory Monument is just a few minutes away, from where you can easily get to the large shopping malls or the famous Chatuchak market. If you want to experience Bangkok off the beaten track, this is the place for you!

Victory Monument in Bangkok – A lively district full of contrasts

If you really want to experience Bangkok, then you can’t avoid the Victory Monument. The area around the monument is full of energy. A place where you can feel the real Bangkok – loud, lively, and incredibly diverse. We spent a few days here and explored a lot on foot. This not only allowed us to see a lot but also to discover the little hidden corners that you might otherwise overlook.

Street food & local markets – Bangkok’s true treasures

An absolute highlight of the area? The food! Around the Skytrain station and in the small side streets, one street food stall follows the next. We tried our hand at fashion – from crispy pork belly to fresh mango sticky rice. The mini kitchens, where the food is prepared right in front of your eyes, are particularly exciting. You can literally see how fresh the ingredients are – and taste them anyway!

Shopping away from the big malls

Victory Monument is not a classic shopping district, but that makes it so exciting. The small street markets and hidden mini-malls have affordable fashion, cool accessories, and many vintage pieces. Fashion gave us the flexibility to travel from market to market, and we ended up in tiny stores that we would probably never have found otherwise.

In addition to the markets, there are also modern shopping centers such as Century The Movie Plaza, where you can find stores, a cinema, and cafés – perfect for a little break in between.
