The year is coming to an end, and we are all getting ready for the last night of the year. We do not only have to make plans regarding how and with whom to spend New Year’s Eve, but we also need to plan our New Year’s Eve Outfit. I actually stopped worrying about what to wear on NYE a few years ago, but I still like dressing up and feeling special on the last day of the year. And I bet you think the same way, don’t you? 😉 In case you guys don’t know yet what to wear on NYE and need some New Year’s Eve Outfit ideas, I put together some outfit ideas the other day including not only one New Year’s Eve Dress, but a couple more to inspire you. Have a look at the following five outfits and let me know which one is your favourite as well as what you are planning on wearing on NYE this year.

What to wear on NYE

The sparkling New Year’s Eve Dress

To me, there is not much of a difference between an NYE outfit and a Christmas outfit. But there are a couple of clothes we are more likely to wear on Christmas than on New Year’s. A sparkling dress is one of the things you can wear to both occasions. To me, a sparkling dress is the perfect piece of festive clothing, and that’s why I had to choose it as one of the New Year’s Eve dresses. When something sparkling is what you have in mind for your NYE outfit, this might be the perfect choice for you. You can either wear a silver dress like the one I was wearing here or go all in and wear a sequin dress for New Year’s Eve. That would be even more eye-catching than this silver dress. As it will be quite cold outside, I would suggest to either get a New Year’s dress with long sleeves or wear a turtleneck underneath. Last but not least you can add a pair of booths as well as tights, and you’re all set for the last night of the year.

New Year’s Eve Party Outfit

The silver one isn’t the only New Year’s Eve dress I am sharing with you today. I got two more, and this little black dress here is one of them. It’s true; you can’t go wrong with an LBD, no matter what the party is all about. So for my New Year’s Eve Party Outfit, I couldn’t do anything but choose a black dress. It’s not what I would usually wear, because it is very sexy, but a little sexy never hurt nobody and when wearing it when not on New Year’s Eve when going to a big party to celebrate the new year? Wear a black dress that doesn’t need any more accessories to complete your New Year’s Outfit. Everything with details such as the buttons or the off-shoulder cut would work. And, of course, every other black dress (and every dress that’s not as sexy as this one) will work. There is just one thing that’s for sure: a little black dress is always a good idea.

On New Year’s Eve we wear sequins

I already mentioned, that wearing sequins on New Year’s Eve works as good as it does for Christmas Eve. If you really like to sparkle and shine on the last day of the year, you can wear everything with sequins on it: a dress, a pair of pants, shoes, a jacket or a top. The latter is what I opted for to show you on the blog. I have to admit, a cropped sequins top isn’t the best choice in regards to the temperatures, BUT don’t we spent most time inside on New Year’s Eve? So just put on a really warm jacket for the time you will be outside and I am sure you won’t freeze. 🙂 Other than that I would always recommend combining your sequin top (and any other clothes with sequins) with some more basic pieces such as the pair of black pants and the black boots I am wearing here. The sequin top is eye-catching enough, so you really don’t need any more eye-catching pieces of clothing for your New Year’s Eve outfit.

This New Year’s Eve Dress is all about the lace

This last New Year’s Eve dress I want to share with you today is all about lace. Sparkle, glitter, sequins and a little black dress are excellent options, but how about some lace? A lace dress can not only be worn during the festive season, but it is also something you can wear all year round so that it won’t be something just hanging in your closet for the rest of the year. But to put together a more festive New Year’s outfit with this lace dress, I decided to wear a sparkling turtleneck underneath. Lace is a very chic detail, but the sparkling top adds the festive touch and makes this dress another perfect New Year’s Eve dress. I also wanted to show you another option in regards to the length of the dress, so this lace dress isn’t another short dress, it is a midi dress. I couldn’t tell which one of the three dresses are my favourite for New Year’s Eve, but there is so much to say about New Year’s Eve dresses: wear whatever you feel most comfortable in and don’t forget to add a touch of glitter to it for the festive feel.

My perfect New Year’s Eve Outfit

Last but not least I want to share the kind of outfit I am most likely going to wear this NYE. You know, that I like to keep it simple and I already mentioned, that I stopped worrying about my New Year’s Eve outfit a while ago. Nevertheless, I want to wear something a bit more special than the outfits I am wearing in my everyday life. And to do so, I would always wear a pair of comfortable pants and combine it with a more eye-catching top. And when I don’t feel like wearing sequins, I would always wear a top with a special cut, some nice details or in a bright colour. For my perfect New Year’s Eve outfit, I opted for a see-through top with ruffles and in a shimmering colour. If you don’t feel like wearing something fancy and sparkling, this might be the perfect choice for you as well. You do not always have to wear a dress for New Year’s Eve. It’s all about feeling comfortable and special at the same time.

  • You need to feel comfortable in your New Year’s Eve outfit, that’s most important.
  • You want to feel special on NYE? Make sure to add a little bit of glitter, shimmer or glimmer to your New Year’s Eve outfit.
  • Less is more and that means, that you need at least one basic piece for your New Year’s Eve outfit.
  • There’s no need to buy new clothes for your New Year’s Eve outfit. A LBD is something we all have in our closet and it will work perfectly for the last night of the year.
