I usually share my business posts on Mondays, but I didn’t have the time to write it. I wasn’t at the office on Thursday and Friday, because I was at a press conference and drove to Rostock for the Holiday On Ice show later that day. I came back on Friday but didn’t feel fit. I had the feeling of getting sick all week, and on Friday I couldn’t fend the flu off anymore. I was down with the flu all weekend, and I didn’t feel like doing anything at all. That’s the reason I didn’t write a new blog post. Today (Monday) I’m feeling a little bit better, and I don’t want to have a big lack of posts here on the blog, so time to write a new one 😉 Today isn’t Monday, but I’ll share a business post with you anyway. And since the year is about to end, it’s about new year’s resolutions and the goals we set at the beginning of the year. Today I want to ask you:
Have you achieved all the goals you set yourself for 2016?
If you can answer this questions with “YES”, you don’t have to continue reading. But if you have to answer it with “NO”, here’s how to make sure to achieve them last minute. Well, at least how to give it a try. We have 25 more days in 2016 and 25 days are enough to work on the goals you set yourself for 2016. It’s never too late to start working on them even when you won’t achieve them in 2016. Maybe you’ll be able to achieve these goals in early 2017 because you did the groundwork in these last 25 days of 2016. To achieve (or work on) the goals you set yourself for 2016, follow the following steps:
1. Write a list with all the goals you set yourself for 2016. If you made a list at the beginning of the year, check this list and mark every goal you haven’t achieved yet.
2. Sort these goals by importance. You can also sort them by size, which means that you put either the easy ones on top of the list or the most difficult ones.
3. If you have a lot of goals you haven’t achieved in 2016, you can eliminate the ones that aren’t important to you anymore. A lot changes throughout the year and maybe some of the goals you set yourself at the beginning of the year aren’t important anymore at the end of the year.
You need these three steps to make sure you won’t waste your time. You don’t have a lot of time left, so make sure to focus on the relevant, the most important goals. And always remember, that it is no problem at all when you don’t achieve every single goal. If you haven’t worked on them yet, they’re not that important to you. And if you don’t want to sort them out for good, you can still take them with you into the next year.
And if you know want to know, how to achieve the goals, make sure to read my post about “Four Rules to achieve your goals” or “How to successfully set and achieve your goals“. And don’t forget to leave me a comment and to let me know whether these tips helped you or not. xx
